Privacy Policy

Last updated:

The short version

Seoul Now does not collect, store, or share any personal information. We have no user accounts, no cookies for tracking, no analytics that identify individuals, and no advertising. Your privacy is fully respected because there is simply nothing to collect.

What personal data does Seoul Now collect?

None. Seoul Now does not collect any personal data whatsoever. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Names, email addresses, or phone numbers
  • IP addresses or device identifiers
  • Browsing history or search queries
  • Location data
  • Cookies or tracking pixels

What about the location feature?

Some features (such as finding nearby facilities) offer an optional "use my location" button. When you grant permission, your browser provides your coordinates directly to the page. This data is processed entirely in your browser and is never transmitted to our servers. We do not log, store, or have any access to your location.

Does Seoul Now use cookies?

Seoul Now uses only a single localStorage entry to remember your preferred interface language (English, Japanese, or Korean). This is stored locally on your device and is never sent to any server. We do not use cookies for tracking, analytics, advertising, or any other purpose.

Does Seoul Now use analytics or tracking?

No. We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any other user-tracking or analytics service. We do not track which pages you visit, how long you stay, or where you came from.

Does Seoul Now share data with third parties?

No. Since we do not collect any personal data, there is nothing to share. We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise disclose any information to third parties.

What about the AI concierge?

The AI concierge processes your question to provide relevant answers about Seoul. Your query is sent to the Google Gemini API for natural language understanding. We do not store your queries, and Google's processing is subject to Google's AI Terms of Service. No personal identifiers are included with the query.

What data does Seoul Now display?

All data displayed on Seoul Now comes from official Korean government open data portals (Seoul Open Data Plaza, data.go.kr, Korea Small Business Administration). This is publicly available government data — not personal data about individuals.

Children's privacy

Seoul Now does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children under 13. Since we collect no personal data at all, no age-specific provisions are necessary.

Changes to this policy

If we ever change our privacy practices, we will update this page with a new "Last updated" date. However, our core commitment remains the same: Seoul Now does not collect personal data, and we have no plans to change that.
